Woodward’s 907-1183 HMI can be equipped with a NEMA 4X-rated protective housing. Although the housing is optional, it is recommended to use it because it is effective in protecting the electromechanical parts from any permanent damage. The housing is waterproof and dust-proof, suitable for harsh outdoor environments.

Models 9907-1183 are equipped with a 32-bit microcontroller that allows control of a variety of turbines, such as industrial-scale standard steam turbines, utility turbine generators and turbine expansion models. It can be configured as a standalone device or run in series with a DCS(distributed control system) in an industrial plant. The 505E controller is designed to operate the extraction and/or entry of most steam turbine systems.

The Woodward HMI features a PID construction that is ideal for applications where parameters such as turbine speed, load, inlet pressure, exhaust header pressure or extraction/inlet header pressure need to be monitored and controlled. With a 4-20 mA transducer and PID, as well as a ratio/limiter function, the 9907-1183 precisely controls extraction/entry while protecting the turbine from operations outside its parameters.
